But just when Amber felt safe, her life was flipped upside down and her past came back to haunt her just when she least expected it... When being your true self is difficult to do how are you meant to be happy. That's what these teenagers face in this story. Amber is a 17 year old struggling with the fact shes transgender, growing up she always liked boys toys better than dolls and by age 8 she knew she was in the wrong body. But being stuck in a home with parents that want the very best from her is making it very hard for her to come out. She finds herself confiding in her best friend Jace. Jace is a closeted gay male who is hiding himself from his heavily strict parents who don't believe that people are born gay. Rayne is a biromantic asexual who is happily open with her friends but at home shes quiet and scared of who she is, a child of divorce she constantly blames herself for her parents divorcing when she was 10. Kyle is the cool skater boy of the group and always seems to be happy and well composed but when hes alone he's confused and scared about his own sexuality along with his past.

Ryan is a high school junior. It's her first year in high school. She's been home schooled her entire life due to her overprotective mother. Her first year in high school makes her believe she's insane and gets her put in a mental home within a few weeks. Now that she's back she's frowned upon the people who promises to be by her side. She goes from the most popular girl in school to a social outcast. She has no prince charming besides her classmate who is in between loving her and every other girl. On her final straw she's ready to take her life but before she does she starts a video diary explaining the faults in her mind and everyone around her.

Stella has had a hard life...her dad was gone, her mother hated her and the most popular boy at school suddenly starts talking to her. Everyone begins to pay more attention to her than usual. Life then starts to get a little worse. The football players and cheerleaders loath Stella. Her mom goes further than usual and Stella can't take it.
