For the last four years. Nai'a Mahoe has been tormented by three bullies. Their latest attack landed the high school senior in the hospital with life threatening injuries. Thoughts of revenge swim in her mind, and she has the means to do so. But there is also the prospect of love with a person she might not have ever met if not for her injuries. Hillside Academy
A 16-year-old girl named Ashlyn is starting her first day at Hillside Academy and she is really excited. But also really nervous - when she was younger, she was told to keep her ability secret and was called a demon. Her ability is a bit... particular. What exactly is Hillside Academy? You may ask. Well, let's start at the very beginning: In this time on earth, everybody has a special, supernatural ability and they are also put in ranks because of their said abilities. And because many people cannot seem to get control of their ability, there are special schools. Everyone has to visit a magic Academy at least once in their lifetime o else the won't be allowed to use their ability in any way and are given some type of blockage. There are thousands and thousands of Academies but there are exactly 3 Elite Academies, on the continent, Ashlyn lives. Heart Academy, Eagle Academy and... Hillside Academy.
