Pondkit is a scrap, a small kit that barely survived leafbare. Saved by an early newleaf, the elders would say.
But hunger isn't the only challenge this ThunderClan kit faces. Death, sickness, and grief unrolls over the clan. Will she and the rest of her clanmates survive the harsh life of a wild cat, or will they plummet down into death, one by one?
On top of that, Pondkit starts getting disturbing. . . Unnatural thoughts. Will she submit and do what they will? Or will she fight the forces of the unknown evil and darkness that lurk in every corner?

**OLD ~ I wrote this when I was like 14-16 so be aware!** Four generations after The Last Hope, we strike into two rivaling Clans: LightClan and OutClan. LightClan is of loyal, strong-willed warriors while OutClan is dis trustworthy and full of rogues. Queens, always caring for their kits, now fearful of losing them to the mystery. Elders, who are as wise as the deepest river, now unable to provide an answers. With leaf-bare creeping up, the Clans are preparing for the harsh weather. Preparing for another season should be like gathering moss for the elders, but not this time. This time, the Clans are struggling just to assemble a hunting patrol and maintain borders. Forcing time out of daily tasks is asking the impossible. Leaf-bare is going to take the remaining lives of the cats that are lucky enough to even make it through leaf-fall.
