It was my job description, to constantly sacrifice my every want, my every feeling, my very essence, but this time I couldn't do it. Being hidden from the world, I was merely a fairytale, the nameless princess, the faceless princess, the unknown princess. So, after my father told me of my engagement, I ran, I ran to a neighboring kingdom. I know it was selfish, but it was the first time I had ever been selfish. But despite no one knowing me, I couldn't erase who I was, I was a princess I would have to face my reality but first I would make a name for myself. But little did I know what exactly that would drag me into problems that simplified and complicated my life.

I want freedom. This can't be what my life is like. I need a change. I stood up from my place on my bed to move to my balcony. I could see the entire kingdom from here. But I knew I wasn't the one in charge. For some intolerable reason, I cannot rule over the world I've known for years. I grew up in the Kingdom of Alathia. I'm the princess for gods sake. But my father believes I am unfit to be a king since I am a women. So I have to marry. All my life he has told me what to do. Him and my mother!" Princess Maria is trapped in the destiny of being queen and being forced to marry a rising king whom she hates with every fiber of her being. She was taught to be the perfect wife was to be the perfect queen. Quiet. Submissive. Loyal. Innocent. While trying to accept her future, she is faced with unholy nightmares, a test of dignity, and a double life to have even the slightest chance of freedom. Would she be able to create her own destiny? Would she eventually have the freedom she longed for? Or would a thief ruin her chances completely by striking a deal and making her face a fate worst than the destiny she was born with? If you were a princess forced to marry before 17 and hated every rule, why should you marry a fool called a 'prince' ? Well because it's a rule. What if your best friend was a peasant and you happened to meet his brothers who he never mentioned. What if you fell for one who changed your thoughts about love. But you can't marry a peasant, a prince or brave knight is your only choice. And if not yours, your parents. But you two slowly become Romeo and Juliet, begging to be taken where you two can be alone. As you try not to be afraid, he told you you two can make it. But you got tired of waiting to be saved.
