A creature is shot down in the night on Yavin. 
Ezra finds the animal which is a Night Fury trapped in bounds. 
Ezra can't bring himself to kill him and sets him free. 
A day later, it's Ezra's turn to scout the base and he finds the Night Fury again. 
He's stuck in a cove unable to fly because of a wounded tail fin. Ezra dosen't tell the Rebellion about his find. Connecting with animals being his specialty in the Force, he works up a secret bond with the Night Fury.
