The world isn't what it seems as a young teenage girl soon finds out. Her entire life has been built and crafted around the idea that she's human. Ordinary, normal, like everybody else. But on her 19th birthday she is faced with a truth she might never fully believe. She's a raijū, a storm wielder. How it's possible is still a mystery to her, and she struggles to come to terms with this new and unwelcome part of herself as she is forced to go to a new high school; a supernatural high school for the young.
At first, Anaïs isn't sure what to believe. She's faced with creatures like her, teenagers like her, others like her for what feels like the first time. She feels like it's where she could belong, but first she has to get over the whole, "not a human" thing. As she continues to learn what it means to be different, Anaïs is faced with heartbreak, romance, and loads of danger. She believes she isn't ready for this, but when lives are on the line, will she have a choice?
