Callie Jacob has an extremely deep ocean to cross. If her mom was still alive she could talk to her, but especially now that her and her little brother, Jude, are separated, she has no family; no one to talk to. She's recently been released from juvie and has been sent to stay at the Schratter's house. A new house to be thrown in for a month or two doesn't help her at all. She's sent to Anchor Beach High School, where she meets Brandon Foster. With Jude still in their last foster home, and herself left with no idea how to get to him, she's left with a very little amount of hope. But with Brandon by her side at all times, her determination continues to grow.
