Lance; the boy with a passion for gardening who always makes sure his front lawn looks as perfect as can be.
Keith; the boy who'd been tossed around from foster home to foster home, never staying for more than 2 years at a time.
With this being his last foster home before he turns 18, Keith needs to be cautious. That isn't so easy when he ends upliving only a 15 minute walk down the road from the graveyard where his mother was buried. Not wanting to pester his foster parents, he's been stealing flowers from someone's garden every week.
But what can he do when Lance catches him in the act and demands to meet the person who Keith picked the flowers for?
Will Lance and Keith keep up their unexpected friendship? And is friendship even all it is?

The initial idea prompt (picking flowers and winding up at a graveyard) was by @writingprompts on instagram. All or most of the characters in this fanfic belong to the creators of Voltron. I do not own Voltron, I'm just here to fangirl.

Sometimes people are a lot different then you think. The first minute Lance steps into his new school he's warned about Keith Kogane. They say he's like the devil, the meanest guy you will ever meet. You better stay away from him otherwise you could get on his bad side, and then your life is over. Lance isn't the guy to judge people just because people talk about that person. But they seem to be right, as a moment later Keith throws a freshman on the ground for speaking to him. That is a sign for Lance to never even look at this guy. They rarely spoke to each other and only knew things about each other that they told the whole team, Shiro, Pidge, Hunk, Coran and Allura. They were always off doing their own things and never did things together unless it was for a mission. On such a mission the team got split up. Hunk and Pidge went to a different planet to help people, and so did Coran and Allura. Shiro, Keith and Lance go on another mission to a planet where no one lives. They need to find a special living plant on the planet to make the Cryogenic Pods work properly again. Shiro choose the two boys because they always fought, but he hopes they won't now.
