Conduits
Long ago, on a normal Thursday, the world went dark. Power grids went down. Electricity shut off. The internet fizzled into nothing. Planes dropped from the sky. People died. One hundred years later the surviving humans live amongst the junk left over from Black Out Thursday. Cars are rusting. Cities lay abandoned. Cell phones, computers, and other machines are worthless to most, except to a few… Clara Danvers is a conduit, a person with the ability to Wake the junk from humanity's past by infusing the sleeping machines with Nites. Fearing the people who do not understand her abilities, Clara and other conduits live their lives in hiding. Most conduits tend to brave the crumbling metropolitan ruins of old, scraping to gather a living for eccentrics who will pay well for antiques from the world's past. They scavenge junk, repair junk, sell junk, and Wake junk in the back allies and dark basements of the lightless communities of tomorrow. Until the day one a conduit goes missing… From a young age conduits are taught to fear those people who don't understand them, to keep vigil, or the road pirates called the Junkers will get them in the night! Braver than most, these bedtime cautionary tales never scared Clara, until the day a friend's family is murdered and that friend's conduit brother disappears. Now Clara must find the people that took her friend's brother. She must do this quickly, because the Junkers are coming for her next… "Conduits" is updated every Tuesday. Check back for new chapters! Gears & Smoke
The war was never theirs to fight-only to survive. When Solmara falls to rebellion and ruin, Evie Carter and Leo Donovan are left with one goal: escape. She's an engineer with secrets. He's a drifter with nowhere to call home. Neither are warriors, but in a world collapsing around them, survival means risking everything. Their only hope lies in Vassir's Gate, a distant safe haven whispered about in dying cities and fractured transmissions. But the road is treacherous. The enemy isn't just an invading army-it's the lawless chaos left in its wake. From burning airships to frozen wastelands, every step brings new dangers, new betrayals, and enemies determined to ensure they never make it out alive. Through it all, Evie and Leo fight side by side-mismatched, stubborn, and unwilling to let the other fall. But trust is fragile, and love is dangerous when every mistake could mean death. As battles rage and desperation sets in, one question remains: will they reach safety together, or will the war break them before they ever see peace? A steampunk sci-fi fantasy filled with adventure, peril, and slow-burning romance, Smoke & Gears is a story of survival, love, and the unbreakable bond between two souls in a world that refuses to let them go. (This book is still currently being worked on and adjusted. Feel free to offer advice as I am new to all of this!)
The Maddest Obsession
"He'd burn the whole world down till he could dig me out of the ashes." I was ready to start a new life. After graduating at the top of my class, I finally had everything. My apartment. My gallery. A perfect boyfriend. Basically, I was living my dream life and I was loving every second of it. But then in came him. And then chaos occurred. All great love stories were supposed to have a happy ending. Mine did too, until he came along. This is the tale of how he found me, how he stole me, and how he lost me. I was a damsel, one who already had her white knight. But every fairy tale had a villain, someone waiting in the wings to rip it all down. A scoundrel who would set the world on fire if that meant he got what he wants. It was me. He wanted me. You know, they say it was bad when you fall for the wrong guy, but the thing was, it was worse when the wrong guy falls for you. WARNING: Contains sensitive topics like cheating.
