"Just because we are blood relatives doesn't mean you are my brother!" I shouted at Matthew as we circled the living room.

"Uh yeah it does! We have the same parents. You are my sister and I am your brother, it isn't that hard to understand," Matthew shot back.

"A big brother would protect their siblings, help them learn from their mistakes, apologize when they are wrong,k love his siblings unconditionally and have each other's back! That's a brother I would be proud to have! BUT I'M STUCK WITH YOU INSTEAD!" I shouted, fury evident in my voice. "Just because we have the same parents doesn't mean I have to call you my brother."

And with that, tears filled my eyes as I ran out the front door and down the road.
