Once every year in a province called Asticus, seven children are chosen to receive the Shot. It allows for said children, known as Honors, to become super powerful, enough to fight the Night Creatures that lurk through the country of Patriae. This year, on her fifteenth birthday nonetheless, Brianna receives the Shot. Brianna knows that by the time she’s sixteen she’ll have to get the Anti-Serum, which will indefinitely kill her. But what if Brianna, and the six other Honors, don’t want to die? Can they find a way to escape and do there Honor jobs, or will the all die trying?
