The year is 1809, on a plantation in southern Mississippi is where the tale of Sty and Polly takes place. He's a house slave and the illegitimate child of a plantation owner. She's a field slave brought in by shackles and wishful thinking. Together they discover a bond through writing despite it being outlawed to their kind and the punishment for such an act being death.

I squint my eyes from the blazing sun picking a dandelion embedded into the soil feeling the slimy texture of the stem on my fingers. "You're playing with dandelions, huh?" ... A story that tells about a boy who grew up in the South witnessing the cruelty of his friends. Having to witness society on the injustices of people who doesn't look like him. A girl who's unable to go anywhere she pleases, facing the mistreatment of people who doesn't look like herself. Until they met each other... Note: There are grammar errors in this book.
