It's now or never. Quickly I ran as fast as I could towards the building in front of me. I planted my foot at the last ledge and made one daring leap. I lunged towards the building infront of me, reaching for it.

You chirp, grinning up at him. He double-checks your expression. His eye staring into yours to see how you're feeling. When he's sure you're not too stressed out, he removes his arm from you and throws a rag over his shoulder. "Okay, stick by me. Ya hyper little bunny..." Optional sequel to Upon Wings Of Change. (This is a version with *JUST* Tessa's POV (different from the main version, which has 3 POVs. Was my attempt to revise the slower pacing, but I'm not sure how well it worked, but since I put in the work, here it is.) Summary: The dragonets are flourishing; both those in the park and those helping the Kymari. As the first dragonets to hatch in the Kymari civilization, Tessa and her brother are paving a new path as they grow up and learn how to fit into the world. New beginnings are often great things, but sometimes shadows from the distant past come calling. Excerpt: I braced my feet against the wall as I pulled. Suddenly, the lever swung downward. I lost my grip and tumbled backward. I landed on my side and slid across the counter. My legs and tail flailed as I tried to get to my feet or slow down-but I didn't manage it in time. Almost in slow motion, my feet went off the counter as I slid into the air. Without thinking, my wings popped open and beat hard as I twisted, trying to turn right side up so I could fly properly. I blinked in shock when I realized I was already flying upward. Grinning triumphantly, I beat my wings again and went back to the counter. Pleased with my flying abilities, I proudly landed on the counter - and forgot to slow down, which promptly sent me sliding across the slippery surface, lightly colliding with the glass door. I ducked my head sheepishly, glad no one else had seen that. My eyes locked onto the gap between the glass doors. With an eager grin, I pressed my shoulder against the edge and pushed. My feet struggled to find traction, but it was opening! Once I pushed the door far enough, I scampered over to the cantaloupe. It was much bigger up close. I blinked slowly, trying to think about how I was going to move it. There was no way I'd be able to lift it. It was round though. Round things could roll, right?Complete

"What the fuck did we bump into?" Damien yells. The entire room rattles. Window frame movement puts too much stress on the glasses. The lights going on and off as if some weirdo is busy toying with them, the light fixture's wires become exposed, and vases crash on the ground from top cupboards followed by books and magazines. Her eyes showed nothing but pure white as she tossed and turned vigorously on the small hospital bed, blinking multiple times. "DO NOT TOUCH HIM!" She yells. This fuels the shaking edifice more. "Do something!" I scream at the doctor who is standing there flummoxed just as we are. Out of nowhere, a bright light engulfs her. "What the actual fuck?" goes the doctor dropping the clipboard in his hands. The ECG machine goes into a wild paced beeping. "DON'T! "She shouts once more sitting up, blasting us away. My back connects with a hard object behind me. The sound of shattering glasses, exploding machines and light bulbs follow .A sharp high pitch sound ringing inside my ears caused by the blast. . I feel myself getting weak as my back aches from being hit. By the time am conscious enough the sound of buzzing sockets as a result of short out wires that produce bright sparks in the now dark room are all I see and hear for a moment, lights flickering simultaneously. Later, I hear someone giving orders from outside our room accompanied by indistinct voices from agitated people being guided out of the building. My eyes scan the room searching for Damien. I heave a sigh of relief to see him laying on the ground his head leaning lazily on the door. A figure moves adjacent from me. The doctor takes closer yet cautious steps towards the girl still seated on the bed her eyes shut. "What in the world of the X-Men are you?"

Then he laid down and turned his back on her. Celine ignored him and listened to see if she could hear what was going on below. She could hear the soldiers speaking downstairs in the tavern but couldn't make out what they were saying. It sounded like they were already setting up their headquarters. "Just my luck," she thought. "I don't know how I'm going to get out of this one! The enemy is all around me!" Then she glanced over at Brandon who was still lying by the fire.
