"Let me stand up for you for once. I've seen you do everything just to make me happy. Please, just let me." I begged him while staring into his eyes. His dark, grey eyes that showed more emotion than what his face could. I scoffed at his silence and left. It was my time to protect him.
There is a world war somewhere in the future between European nations and American nations. Four years after the war had started, a 16-year old girl who travels from Jacksonville, Florida to Atlanta, Georgia alone is found by a boy that is mysterious yet easy to figure out. Maybe they'll live throughout the whole thing, maybe they won't. Who knows?

She has made a promise to her older brother, Drew, while he was on his death bed, to protect their younger siblings- a promise she hopes she doesn't break. She is very tough, but fear is a constant no matter who you are. In the story, fear is ruling her; the fear that she's failing Drew. If she, her family, and her neighbors were not in this setting, she'd be perfectly happy. But she can't be happy now, not with everything that's going on.Complete
