Socofu was a relatively undeveloped planet that the Galra thought nothing of, like Earth. Though, unlike Earth, they were a few centuries behind them. Not to mention, their ruler, Princess Nyeeni (who Pidge not-so-affectionatelly called Princess Whiny) was a bitch who couldn't write her name because "it's exausting and meant for pesants, like yourself".
Yeah... within two days Pidge had accidently fallen through a loophole and right onto the throne...
