The Monsters Twins

Reina and Grayson Morganstern have lived average lives for the most part. Their father died when they were babies so neither of them remember much about him other than what their mother has shown them.

This story starts on the outskirts of Paris where a young mother lives with her children, and her friend Wanda, a warlock. They have lived together as their dysfunctional little family in peace for many years until one day something life changing happens causing the children to flee into a portal.

The portal takes them to the New York Institute where their aunt lives. They can't go back to their homes for safety reasons and they can't get in touch with their mother. The adult shadowhunters at the Institute take them in and tell them that until their mother finds them then they must stay.

On the verge of adult hood the children agree to stay until they turn eighteen.

Or until she finds them.
