Children are being brutally murdered. There's no evidence to link the murders except the way in which they are found. The police are sure they are dealing with a psychotic serial killer, but one person knows it's much more than that. ************** Please note this is a short story - and a work in progress. A young girl (Red), is raised in a cult environment that performs human sacrifice as a part of their rituals. Red is physically, verbally and sexually abused by her father and his followers. She develops Stockholm's syndrome, but some part of her still knows that it is wrong. Red protects the other girls - victims of the cult, who subsequently hate her, thinking she is just another one of their tormentors. Until one day something goes wrong, and with Red's subtle prompting, the police find out about the abhorrent acts being done in the name of religion. And that's when things really get interesting... Forced to pretend to be normal in a world as strange to her as fluorescent converse, Red must rely on her inner voices to determine what is right or wrong. But how can one be in balance in the world when she is told that everything she has ever known or been a part of was an act against God? What is there left for a young serial killer to believe in, if not the blood of sacrifice?
