Her older brother leaves her when she is twelve and had to fend for herself for one year, until her best friends help her out. At sixteen, Shira Matthews thought moving would solve some of her problems but, she didn't realize her problems where just starting. She thinks she knows everything about her world. Until one night, Shira was attacked by a giant wolf, then saved by another. Shira's best friends told her a secret that changed her life. Was it for the better or for the worse? She learns about new creatures and what they live by. She is trying to go to school, get good grades, run away from things trying to kill her, keep a secret from everyone she loves, and stay alive. Easy right? Will Shira be able to keep this secret if her life depended on it? Or will she die trying?
