"I'm not here to fall in love, but I travelled here by myself. Visiting Italy together while pretending to be lovers would definitely be an amusement, don't you think?" After a brutal divorce and a tumultuous year, twenty-seven year old Remy Estera suddenly decided to spend an entire summer in Italy all on his own, at least he thought it would be. However, the night he arrived, he was approached by a man named Jay who suggested to be pretentious lovers for the duration of their summer vacation, without it any strings attached. "To prevent us from falling for each other, let's refrain from sharing any personal details about one another. I'm not going to tell you my real name and you shouldn't either. And when we leave this place, we forget any of this happened." Remy thought he would be able to follow through, but by the end of summer, he was deeply infatuated by this stranger that he was convinced they were soulmate. They spent their days touring the city together, sharing food, caressing their naked bodies and making love as if they had been lovers in another life. Until one morning, Remy woke up and Jay had vanished, no trace of him left. He thought it was going to be the last he ever heard of Jay. He thought he would never find his soulmate again, that this summer fling would remain all it was-a summer fling. Part 1: Today was supposed to be my fairytale day. My perfect wedding day. I made my way to David, he took my hand in his, walking us closer to the long faced man who would be marrying us. The officiant started, greeting the room full of all my family, all of David's family. Going through the first reading easily. Giving their peace on the joy of marriages, it was bland, but acceptable. Moving along, the officiant announced in a loud voice, "If anyone here knows of any reason why these two should not be lawfully wed, let them speak now, or forever hold their peace." The officiant boomed over the crowd. I was caught off guard. This part was supposed to be just a formality, just a box to tick. No one was supposed to say anything. The world started to go in slow motion as Verity moved behind me a flicker in the corner of my vision. "David, I can't hide anymore." He said. As David's eyes went from me, to Verity, filled with concern. David looked over my head at Verity while he was holding my hands in his. I heard the crowd gasp, before everyone started to whisper. David dropped my hands. The whispers increased in intensity. Making the room sound like it was full of hissing snakes. David's attention wasn't anywhere near me. I looked up to see him looking over my head at my brother. With a look I had thought he had saved just for me, my heart breaking as my fairy tale became a nightmare. Part 2 also complete July 2023.

'They pulled the chair across from me out and sat in it. The tavern carried on when the figure made themselves comfortable. My grip tightened on the hilt of the dagger. They pulled the hood of their cloak off and unclasped it. Their movements were relaxed and unhurried. I ran my eyes over him. He had strange black, swirling tattoos on his neck and long, pointed ears. His clothes were plain. I crossed my arms and sat back in my seat, keeping my eyes on his piercing midnight blue ones. He cocked an eyebrow. "Well?" I narrowed my eyes. "Well, what?" "What's your business here?" "I should be asking you that, considering you silenced a room by being in it." "Fair enough." He paused as the bartender brought another tankard over. "I'm looking for a travel companion." His voice was as deep as the shadows surrounding us. "You're an elf... Don't they prefer to travel on their own?" "Fae," he corrected as he pulled a pipe out of thin air. A black wisp of smoke surrounded his hand as he did so. "But yes, we do. I, however, have had enough of my thoughts being my only company." I nodded. "So?" He raised his eyebrows. I shook my head sadly. "This is something I need to do. Alone." "Alright." He looked a bit disappointed, which was odd, considering we had just met. ' What happens when you're going to kill the Unnamed One and meet a mysterious fae on your journey? Do you trust him, or leave him? And what do you do when you find out what he's been hiding? Iowyn Aedithas is on a quest to save her guild. A quest that could potentially be lethal for her. She's an awfully brave (some would say naive) human to be doing this. Demons have been attacking her guild, and she's had enough. She meets Evaris, the mysterious fae, on her journey and he becomes her travel companion. When they reach their destination, he reveals information that's previously been held close.
