"Why do you wanna be my friend?" Keith rose an eyebrow.
"Because, silly, everybody needs friends, and you don't look like you have any. Don't worry, though; I have a lot of friends! If you be my friend, you could meet my other friends, and then we'll all be friends!"
"I don't want friends."
"Aww, yes you do! If my mama ever met you, she'd call you a 'wet blanket'. That's what she calls boring people."
"I'm not boring!"
"Yes you are!"
"No, I'm not!"
"Then shake my hand." There's that stupid smile.
Keith sighed. Because he felt challenged, he grabbed Lance's hand and shook it. He could never refuse a challenge.
Little did he know that this handshake would turn into something beautiful.

After a training session gone wrong, Lance is injected with a poison which threatens to take away his memory after a week. The only way to get him back would be for someone to help him remember his life, or he'll be gone forever... Secrets are spilled, feelings are shared, and love is near. Keith was in and out of the hospital for all of his life. He often snuck out of his room to wander the halls in an attempt to stifle his boredom. When he was ten years old, he found a boy in a coma-and he happened to be around his age. He would often talk to him about his day and bring him toys. But one day, the boy was gone without a trace. Lance was nine years old when he was in a major car accident. His injuries were extensive and he was put into a medically-induced coma. When he woke up, he recovered fully and returned home. Seven years later, he suddenly remembers a certain voice that spoke to him while he was under. Teased, pushed around, brushed off, alone: all words Lance McClain believes perfectly describes him. The phrases his "friends" use to prod and tease him cut deeper than they intend and he doesn't let the world see how broken he is. But Keith sees. Sometimes people are a lot different then you think. The first minute Lance steps into his new school he's warned about Keith Kogane. They say he's like the devil, the meanest guy you will ever meet. You better stay away from him otherwise you could get on his bad side, and then your life is over. Lance isn't the guy to judge people just because people talk about that person. But they seem to be right, as a moment later Keith throws a freshman on the ground for speaking to him. That is a sign for Lance to never even look at this guy. But that isn't that easy as it sounds, cause even if he is a bully he is kind of good looking. Wait good looking? he's a guy! Mami always warned him to never hang out with bad people. Otherwise she will probably beat the light out of his eyes, so no way he's going to approach a guy like that. Till he sees this Keith in a whole different light.
