(As I wrote Runaways a few years ago, I decided to rewrite the story to make the plot, grammar, and stylistic elements cleaner and much more neat than they were before.)
[Supernatural High School AU]
Castiel Novak spends his life hiding in the shadows of the people around him. When a new student named Dean Winchester moves to Lawrence, his life is never the same.
Once the two boys are ridiculed and faced with homophobia from the people around them, they decided to run away to the safety of one of the Winchester's family friends, Bobby Singer. When Bobby disappears one afternoon, they must rescue him with the help of someone neither boy unexpected to work with...
In the midst of the peril they face while trying to save their friend, they receive a letter from Cas' mother. It is then revealed that Cas and Dean aren't meant to be here in this universe and that there is a whole other world that they are meant to be prospering in. But what will they have to sacrifice to get back?
A lot can happen when you decide to run away.

Every since he was little he wrote stories about monsters and demons and angels to escape from the beatings of his drunk father, John. After he lands a job at his little brother Sams high school, he meets the one and only Castiel Novak. He can't help but notice his magnificent ocean blue eyes, and the way he tilts his head when he's confused about something, or his raven black sex hair. Dean couldn't help but feel an ache in his chest every time he sees him, but he had no clue why. Castiel Novak only had two years of school left before he could finally escape the hell that is Sioux Falls High School. Every since he moved here he's had a hard time making friends. After all, being gay wasn't a good thing to be at his school. He would constantly get mentally and emotionally abused by his classmates. Two more years, he kept telling himself, and then he would graduate and get a degree in fine arts. When the new English teacher, Mr. Winchester, shows up Castiel immediately takes interest. Maybe, it was his gorgeous Emerald green eyes, or his ashy blonde hair that was always spiked up perfectly. Whatever it was, Castiel knew he would like this new teacher. The Winter of 1959 is here, and Dean Winchester meets Castiel Novak at a party. When Dean finds out Castiel is gay, and quite literally has secrets up his sleeves, how will he react? For Dean knows he is most definitely straight... Right? ~~~~ I got this idea from a roleplay I was doing on Supernatural Amino. It's almost the same thing with some changes.
