The Magicality families are not entirely human. They've traveled the astral planes, fought monsters thought to not even exist, unlocked fantastic magical powers, and passed it all down through generations. The Magicality legacy, culture, and heritage is always passed down to the family's oldest daughter, while the family's oldest son serves as a Magicality Guard to the young Magicality, sometimes called a Celestial or an Astral. However, the school for learning the Magicality arts was destroyed a long time ago, and the four surviving Magicality families on Earth aren't sure they have the strength to reopen it again. That is, until the new generation of Magicalities rises. (listed as fantasy, because I didn't know whether to put it in fantasy or sci-fi) (dimensional travel ahead)

~Are you afraid of Monsters?~ For as long as she could remember, Angelica Foster has wanted a family. Bouncing in and out of foster care, she had long since given up the idea of her real family coming to rescue her and instead turned to making her own family. And she almost got it. She had the serious boyfriend, the cute little house, the good job and good friends she'd trust to take care of any future children if something were to happen to her. And then ~it~ showed up. The monster in the shadows that followed her everywhere constantly asking her to be her friend. Angelica was certain she was going crazy and did everything she could to get rid of it. Priests, holy water, voodoo rituals, but still it wouldn't leave. When Angelica's boyfriend can't handle what's going on with her and breaks up with her, she's determined to hold onto everything she has left. So she decides to play this monster's game... quite literally. Now Angelica has the house, she has the job and she has a supernatural roommate and is collecting more as time goes on. But having monsters for roommates brings a whole different kind of problems. Like how to feed them, how to keep them from bothering the neighbors with haunting shenanigans, and, how suddenly she's getting more and more visits from local police. Angelica is going to find out that family is what you make it. And monsters, well, they need love too.
