Jessica Smith is a 16-year-old, Australian girl who has experienced the worst kind of pain and grief for the last 5 years of her life. At 11 years of age, Jessica found out her little brother Jayden, had been diagnosed with stage 3 leukaemia. After a gruesome few months of Jayden's fight with cancer, he sadly passed away. After his death, Jessica struggled to accept that her little brother was gone and was left to grief herself as her parents began to dedicate their whole life to the work as a way to escape the harsh truth. 5 years later, Jessica decided 2017 was going to be different. Moving to a new house and a new school Jess decided to make this year memorable, but will it turn out how she hopes??
