"O Flower of Scotland, When will we see Your like again? That fought and died for Your wee bit hill and glen. And stood against them, Proud Edward's army, And sent them homeward tae think again." - O Flower of Scotland by Roy Williamson.
This beautiful hymn to Scotland is sung by millions across the globe. It tells the tale of the battle for Scottish independence. But what many don't know is the story as to how this beautiful ballad came to be.

Aine O'Brien was on a family vacation in Scotland when Fate changed the course of her life forever. Sent back to 14th century Scotland, she must now uncover why Fate has sent her back in time and do so without losing her head. There, she meets a man named Gregory MacRae and though she does not know why, she has the feeling he will be a very important part of her journey.

In the Highlands of Scotland, Gregory MacRae is a fierce Laird who's main goal is to stop England from invading his home. On the brink of war, he knows he doesn't need any distractions in his life but all of that changes when a young woman finds herself in the middle of a battle. Hellbent on sending her back to wherever she came from, he does his best to ignore his emotions but they prove to be too complicated. Why of all times was Fate messing with him now?

HIGHEST RANKING #6 in HISTORICAL FICTION! --- For all her life, Lady Evie Verrick had been regaled of tales of the Highlands from her Highland born and bred mother. She had grown up dreaming of chivalrous knights, sword-fighting, horse back riding. Tales of kin and family, loyalty and the warmth of a home. But being brought up in a traditional English household with a traditional father, her mother was the closest thing to the Highlands she could get. And when her mother died of pneumonia before her coming out, left to her father's care, Evie wants now, more then ever, to see the promised lands that she grew up with. --- Connor Gilroy had served as the first in command to the MacKenzie clan for as long as he could remember. He owed his loyalty to his best friend and brother in arms, Hammond MacKenzie, who had saved him from being skinned alive by English soldiers years ago, before the truce was signed between the two lands. Having no love lost for the country, Hammond would be the only person who could ever convince Connor to step foot back into English lands. His chief had recently received news on the death of the aunt he has never met, but Hammond was a man of his word, and he had promised his father he would care for all kin, regardless of who they were. But Connor never would've imagined that the cousin of his best friend would be a spirit of the flames. The way Evie took on life and all of its problems with a passion that ignited a hearth, would perhaps be the first time someone ever ignited more then just passion and desire within him.

"Here's the thing though . . ." He trails off thoughtfully and then he looks straight at me. His eyes are steely and that makes me realise the fundamental difference between the young Ryan and this Ryan. He's hardened now. The sweet boy I once knew is probably still in there somewhere but life eventually got to him and he had to toughen up. "I need someone I can rely on. I don't want to take a person on who just decides it's too much hassle a few days or weeks in and just . . . Ghosts me." He finishes. There's a definite challenge there. He's not just talking about the job. He's getting a dig in there about the way I disappeared out of his life.
