Eric Dodson is just your average teenage boy just trying to get through high school. Only he's not just a typical teenage boy because he's been forever labeled as the golden son of a pastor. Eric is the son of a very strict, traditional Southern Baptist preacher and his all-American wife. But Eric soon begins to wonder if there's something more to life outside the realm of his father's strict control or beyond the boundaries of a small country church. When Eric befriends the mysterious Konor Blackwood everything starts to change. Konor has been marked the outcast of the town because of his "rebellious" behavior and free spirit. Konor lives life to the beat of his own drum and questions the beliefs and traditions of the townspeople. His desire to be his own person is seen as threatening to the strong moral values of the community. Eric learns, with the help of Konor, that skepticism and thinking outside the box may not be such a bad thing. But with this new way of free thinking comes heartache and judgment for Eric.
