A Victor's child is probably the most prestigious title anyone could have in the Capitol's opinion. Maybe even for the Districts. But the reality wasn't as great as they made it look. Dove Ogilvy, the youngest out of the three adoptive children of Librae Ogilvy, came to realise this at a very young age.
The Hunger Games, the tributes, the deaths, even the Victors were all part of a massive show for the Capitol. No one could escape it. And for Victor's children, the reaping was just a formality. None had achieved to escape fate. Everyone knew they would get reaped eventually. And in District Four's case, they were thrilled for that to happen to the Ogilvy family.
Dove was determined to volunteer. Angelique Ogilvy, her older sister, had all the odds to be reaped for the 66th Hunger Games. But she wouldn't let that happen. Volunteering at the age of thirteen wouldn't be smart, but she couldn't let her sister die for someone's corrupted show.
However, President Coriolanus Snow had other plans for her. She didn't know, but her games started way before the voice of Claudius Templesmith declared the countdown.
