Rainpaw! Ashpaw!" The cats cheered as the new apprentices stood up a little taller. Rainpaw padded over to Flowerwhisker and touched their noses. Rainpaw purred with happiness. Everything seemed perfect.
Until suddenly her vision ran dark, her legs wouldn't move, her chest felt like she couldn't breathe. Rainpaw found herself enclosed in darkness until she heard words echoing around her.
"The rain will quench the fire and dreams will be broken before a new life will rise from the cinders."

Keenkit always figured he and his littermates were normal kits who would all become apprentices and be able to train together. But when a strange cat takes his sister out of StreamClan on the day of their apprentice ceremony, he quickly realizes such hope has become impossible. Sunpaw just wants to prove to his clan, BreezeClan that he can become a great warrior. But it isn't as easy as it sounds. Even though his rival apprentice Slowpaw is much younger than him, he is always beaten in battle training and he can never catch nearly as much prey. His mentor doesn't make it any better either.
