It's 1883 , the medical advances in this past four decades gave the people of the European empire a long awaited peace , its war and plague hit past had dwindled it's population down to seventy percent of its original strength . In this era ushering new medical breakthrough one evil of the medical word was not abolished ,that being experiments on humans and production of narcotics , but several laws were in place making these privileges only available to a handful of doctors and companies with a government permit , the most prominent of these advances was the founding of a biodrug , this drug was called "hypnosia" or how the locals call it "memory lane" , this drug was a high intensity hallucinogen which when taken causes the person to experience the one memory he longs for given its something his senses have encountered, this drug was powerful enough to take over all your senses to make you relive that one memory , this ushers in a whole new age of psychiatric study and healing , the famed church of the healing blood held most of the monopoly in most parts of the European empire , they were entrusted in the healing of the mentally ill or so called accursed . well as in cases of all drugs there existed a mafia for this too , they Called themselves the the blight , they held most of the illegal production and supply of memory lane. As of the source , memory lane was derived from an antigen formed I'm the spinal fluid of a very particular genome type , these people with the ability to produce these special fluids were named blessed ones , they were know to have an extra vertebrae near their pelvis which had a needle like projection . they were not treaded like humans . they were mere tools in the industry, this is a story of Ervin a blessed one born on January's end and his life as a blessed one .

Voiceless

Merudoxin. Hearing that word should have made everyone grimace at the thought. It should have filled their body with pure anger to see women everywhere rave about the new drug; to see its name plastered all over the news. They told us it would make labour painless. They told us it would revolutionize childbirth. The only thing left to do was to test it. On us. Women everywhere were lining up at their local hospitals just waiting to get a taste of the drug. Conceitedly, they signed their names. Everyone was hoping the medicine would work. It was to be a major science breakthrough! But no one ever promised that the babies wouldn't get hurt. No one seemed to care about the endangerment of their lives. That's where I came in. A voice for the voiceless. I would never let a life be wasted, even if my own life became at risk. **Sneak Preview** The doctor took the baby in his hands and took a look himself. I heard him take a sharp intake of breath. "Bloody hell!" he exclaimed. "What should we do with her?" the surgeon asked. "We're going to have to get rid of it" he announced simply. I whipped my head towards Arturo. I began getting up, trying to end this tyranny but Arturo held me back and that's when I remembered where we were, who I was carrying inside me. I cried quietly as I watched the woman scream and whimper as she realised the fate of her child. And the fate of herself. The surgeon wheeled her inside a door followed by the Doctor with the baby. "You can't do this to us! Give me my baby!" she sobbed helplessly until she said in a quiet voice, "Let me hold her once". The doors closed before I could see if they fulfilled her last wish. That's the last I saw of her and her daughter. Hope you enjoy, fishies! Copyright Restricted
