Every year the most beautiful woman in the village must be sacrificed as a bride to the God of Water, Aegche. Everyone says that he looks like a monster. Not in Chanmul's case.

Chanmul is a simple girl from a small village in ancient Korea, 100 B.C.E. She expected to see a monster. But instead, she is greeted by a somewhat warm welcome to the God of Water, Aegche.

When Chanmul meets Aegche in his true form, he addresses himself as Taehyung. However, Chanmul does not know it is him. Our young heroine falls in love with Aegche and Taehyung, calling herself a fake bride because of that.

But Aegche still has strong feelings for first wife, whom is dead.

When he finds out that she is alive, what will Chanmul do next? What will happen when Taehyung meets his first wife? And lastly, what will happen when Taehyung and Chanmul have romantic feelings towards each other while Taehyung's first wife is there?
