When the monster is inside you, where do you run?

It's the end of civilisation - for Salt Spring Island, at least. Trapped on the island with former townsfolk turned killing machines, sixteen-year-old Nina Scott must band together with the uninfected if she's any hope of surviving. But trust is a flighty concept in a town gone mad, and as a hierarchy forms and morality loses its influence, Nina and her friends soon realise that the real war isn't with the monsters outside.

Worse still: the infected aren't the only ones who've changed. Survivors are adapting in the most frightening of ways, acquiring abilities that defy the human norm. And there's no telling whether they're stable.
