Olivia is shy, bookish and beautiful. She is starting eighth grade at her sixth school in four years, and she assumes it will be the same as all the others. And it is. But when cute, popular nice-guy Alec starts being friendly, Olivia realises that there are more things to life besides books, and she finds herself falling for him. She knows he doesn't like her back. After all, who could like a bookworm?
Alec is cute, friendly, and secretly very shy. He thinks this year will be like any other, filled with fun with his mates, basketball, and secret reading. But when beautiful Olivia shows up to school wearing an 'I'd rather be reading' shirt and a cute, shy smile, Alec immediately likes her. He befriends her, and to the horror of his friends, finds himself falling head-over-sneakers in "like". But he knows it could never happen. A girl as beautiful, in looks as well as personality, as her could never like someone as ordinary as him. Right?
