Just one mistake can lead to a never-ending chain of cause and effect.  For example, missing a plane can ultimately lead to an unintentional kidnapping by two car robbers just trying to make enough money to get by.  An accidentally abducted teenager, two inexperienced thieves and the son of a multi-million dollar business owner make for a very interesting road trip.
