The Merchants', Rose, Cotton and Victoria moves into their new home in the woods. However unknown to the new occupants, the house isn't as ordinary as it seems. During one of the clean up sections in the basement, Rose discovers a diary belonging to the previous owner. She goes through the diary only to discover after reading that the previous owner was a sorcerer and that a page has been tore off from the diary. Her husband Cotton does not believe in the existence of witchcraft. This puts a strain in the relationship as they are always quarrelling.
Very soon, Victoria, their 9 year old daughter starts behaving strangely and seem to be possessed by an unseen force.
