Soulmates. The very word was taboo. Heads turned and whispers swallowed the room every time somebody dared to say it out loud. Distrustful glances were thrown around; prying eyes tried to see the cracks in others' public facade. Cold sweat dripped down the backs of those with a guilty conscience. Cursed with a tattoo on his hand, Jughead resented, absolutely loathed, everything it stood for. Because of the black ink on his skin, he had to keep up a perfect front, stay away from everything that painted him in a curious light. Never had the words on his wrist brought anything besides heartbreak and misery, and his situation wasn't going to get any better. He was a freak, an outcast. He was the reason his family fell apart.

"What is going on with you?" she practically yelled. I looked at her and shrugged. "Seriously, Juggie. You're so damn confusing. One minute you act like you hate me the next you are defending me and acting like you love me. You make no sense" she ranted. She glared at me and I chuckled. "I love it when you call me Juggie. It's hot" I said and she continued to glare at me in silence. "I didn't know what I wanted before. I do now" I said casually. "Really? And what is that?" She fumed. "You, baby." I smirked. Betty moved away years ago when her parents divorced. Her mother wanted a fresh start in New York. Everyone promised to keep in touch but, of course, they didn't. Only her cousin. Cheryl stuck by Betty. Betty survived though. She made new friends and her mother remarried making Veronica her sister and best friend. Jughead was broken when Betty left. Losing her changed him. As the years wore on, he became darker and cruel. He joined his Dad in the Serpents and truly loved the gang lifestyle. Archie felt hollow since Betty left. He distracted himself with football and girls and had earned himself quite a reputation. Betty and Veronica became best friends while they're mothers dated. They both embraced the New York party lifestyle. Betty changed from a sweet, quiet girl to a bit of a wild child but kept her heart of gold. That is, until Betty and Veronica move to Riverdale with their mothers. Jughead and Archie are shocked to see Betty again. One of them view her as a challenge, the other as prey. Betty has other ideas though. Language warning and maybe some violence and dark material.
