I was normal before this. Before him. Normal job, normal flat, the bliss normality of the ignorance of all the real monsters. I used to think that one time murderers were what went bump in the night. But compared to Xavier Falicci? Child's play. And I was happy in my ignorance. So so happy. Then he stole me from my life. Made me watch people be murdered. Made me murder people. But he made me feel things, so many different things. Through all of the pain, through all of the pleasure, through every emotion that he's made run through my veins, I try to think of a worse way to live. Because being his captive has changed me. Changed everything about me. As soon as I was kidnapped, the old Brooklyn died. The old me, the one who knew the difference between good and evil, right and wrong, justice and redemption. But, you know, through it all, all of the madness since that fateful night, I've realised something. Life isn't like that. Does your story & writing shine as far as: ★ - Concept ★ - Voice ★ - Storytelling The Standouts is a fun, but hopefully helpful contest that can give you a sense of whether your story resonates with someone who's got some experience under her belt. Great! But who are you to judge? Fair question. This is not to humble-brag, but I've been critiquing and have worked with story development for quite some time, and I've picked up a lot along the way. ☙ - As an Ambassador, I work on content projects. ☙ - If you look at my profile, you'll see everything I've published so far has managed to standout in one way or another, whether by leading me to become a Wattpad Star; or by winning a Watty (twice!); or by being picked as a Top 10 in major Wattpad contests (twice!); or being featured. All I'm saying is I'm no slouch. I'm not brilliant either. But I've got some experience around what can catch an agent, editor, or judge's eye, and I'd like to share that with the community. ☙ - In another lifetime, I used to work for HBO in Development and at ICM (the talent agency) in their writers' department which means I understand how professionals quickly gauge whether or not they'll take a closer look at a work and/or make an offer. This kind of insight can be helpful if you're planning to submit your work or even just want to stand out more here on Wattpad. ☙ - I used to provide critiques for three writers, all of them traditionally published. Bella head towards where they're going, carefully stepping along the craggy rocks. When suddenly, one of the rock she step into knocks her off balance. She trip on a rocky out crop and stumble toward the ground, when someone steps in to catch her. "Whoa." Says the guy who catch her Bella reached out her arm going around his neck as he folds her safely into his arms. When she opens her eyes and turns up to look at who catches her. Ezra's face comes into view. So close to her face. Her arms are still around Ezra's neck. She abruptly take her hands off him and put a space between them, she stands up straight.. "Thank you." She utters to Ezra in a whisper. She looks ahead to see if their friends saw what just happened between her and Ezra. To her relief they're continuing the trek. They're oblivious of what just happened. Which is a good thing for her, because She hates to be teased. Her thoughts is interrupted by what Ezra said "Trust me, the pleasure is all mine. It's not everyday that a gorgeous woman falls right into my arms." looking directly at her which makes Bella blush. +++++++++++++++ I hope you fall in love with my story. The Ghosts
My mother always told me when life gives you lemons, you make lemonade. When someone knocks you down, you get right back up. You fight the good fight until you have nothing left. You fight with honor, you protect the ones you love, and if you just happen to die in the process, than you do so with dignity and grace. What my mother neglected to tell me during my studies was that you don't always get what you want, the outcome you think is coming doesn't always happen, and when the smoke clears, you're always going to be the last one standing. By the end of The Certainty, Georgiana Vertigo is left with nothing more than her life, something many people would be more than happy to have. However, Georgiana is left to her own devices in a strange city, alone and heartbroken with regular intense bouts of depression. In starting a new life with the Guild, Georgiana has everything she needs in order to move on with her life and keep her mind off the past. Only problem is, the past is never truly forgotten and no matter how hard you try to shake them, the feelings that go along with the memories don't just fade away. ~ * ~ Alright, chickens. You asked for it (some of you at least) and here it is...well...part of it. Like I've told a few of you, this is a work in progress. I add pieces to it when I think of them. The posting on this story will NOT be regular but thankfully for you, I have quite a bit of it done. I just haven't decided if the path I take it down is the right one. So.
