Lana June Curtis is a 16 year old with a wild heart and an open mind. When her parents die in a tragic accident, the once shy little girl has gotten into some new hobbies. New rifts have also arrived in between the Curtis siblings, and Lana likes to believe she was impacted the hardest. With her sense of direction in the world seemingly displaced and a series of more tragic events occur, Lana is forced to maneuver through love, friendships, and loss seemingly alone. After all, it's pretty hard being a girl when you're surrounded by a bunch of guys.

Darrel is stressed with work and taking care of his two brothers and was getting angry a lot recently. Sodapop felt disconnected and almost sick all of the time and was very tired of being a middleman to his brothers all the time. Ponyboy was struggling with his sexual orientation and was scared what others would say when he realised he had fallen in love with, not even a girl, but Johnny Cade.
