The Ophiuchus Expanse, a remote region of space located at the far edge of Galactic Commonwealth space has gone largely unnoticed and unexplored for decades. But with the chance discovery of an abundant source of what was long thought to be a rare mineral by deep-space exploration probe, the Galactic Commonwealth has taken an interest in the region. With this newfound interest, the Galactic Commonwealth has launched a massive exploration, colonisation and mining campaign into the Expanse. The Commonwealth's action, however, have not gone unnoticed. Other galactic powers, be it small and great, have begun to venture into the Expanse as well. But unbeknownst to them all, including the various races living in the Expanse, a long dormant ancient power has reawoken. And it is ready to strike.
