Lacey-Anne Smith was a girl who had a perfect life: a perfect wardrobe, a perfect family (most of the time, anyway), perfect friends, and was totally and utterly happy. One night, she had a strangely realistic dream with a strange, attractive guy she had never met before. She's thrown into a whirlwind of chaos as she moves from sunny California to Maine and she realizes that the boy in her dreams is actually real and she encounters people that she would prefer never to see again. Maeve would agree. Matthew hasn't always "hated" Maeve, but going into high school things changed. High school is very different from elementary and middle school. At least in their small town anyway. Matthew wanted to keep his popularity and relevance in high school, so that's when the switch flipped for the both of them. But could there be a knight in shining armor for her? Maeve meets Shawn Mendes and he becomes a bright light in her life as their friendship develops. Shawn would be good for her. He knows he could be good for her. She thinks there could potentially be something there..right? Now what kind of story would it be without obstacles and changes? There's no telling where the end will take us. Will Shawn be there to save her? Or will someone else beat him to it? *mentions of abuse (dv), depression, anxiety, and s/h* *This story does not exist in the era of magcon. Shawn does end up becoming a big singer but through a different way. Timelines for things may not be correct regarding his career/music so ignore that. It's to go along with the plot. Matthew is playing himself, but again, magcon does not exist in this story therefore Matthew is not nor does he become famous.*

Lacey is an unfortunate 15 year old who happens to have cerebellumpilocyticastrocyroma. It's a type of head cancer which only grows slowly and doesn't spread but builds up pressure in your head, and If pressure is too much you could die. She has basically lived in the hospital all of her life with this malignant cancer. She didn't think that she was going to meet anybody she would get close with until she meets Haymish a 15 year old boy who has major allergens and is still being tested on. When they meet up and become close they go kn adventures of their own that some are dangerous and some are just fun. But they soon come to reality that their medical conditions could take their life at any time. As Lacey gets worse and Haymish attempts to help her she realised that she is just on a Road to Nowhere.
