In this world, people are a certain colour. They're the same as us; but their hair, blood, and tears are all one colour. And they are placed on a social hierarchy accordingly. Darker colours are more royal, etc: royal blues and purples, whereas bright colours like lime green, and bright red are at the bottom.
Daniel is light green, Gerald is dark green.
