The age of 20 is just about when you would start getting your life together, where you're no longer considered a kid and have almost blossomed into full adulthood. It's kind of that in-between stage of being a young adult and a full-fledged model citizen. For Maxwell Archer, the age of 20 was more like an awakening for everything to go wrong in his life.
He was what you would call a "late-bloomer". Max had yet to have his first, well, anything yet. Usually by the age of 18, 98% of the world should've gone through their first heat or rut. Obviously, that didn't happen for Max. For that, he was bullied or made fun of because he didn't have a faction to be separated into.
Max had just survived high school and moved from the countryside to a bustling city in Sector 3 to seek residence with his only known relative, his grandfather. And that's where everything went wrong.
