Cole Ashton is selectively mute. His older brother Jace isn't much better in terms of talking to people. But they both excel in sports. Jace is the track star of Adam's Grove High School while Cole is captain of the middle school boys soccer team. Lila Harris is in her junior year, along with Jace Ashton. She has known the boys all her life and no matter how hard she tries, they never talk to her. Until one day, Cole decides to talk to her. Out of all the people he could have chose, Cole wants Lila to help him. And he wants to help with the scars on her wrists. But the thing about those scars is Lila didn't do them to herself.... Saving Cole may just be the hardest thing she has ever done but in the end maybe Cole will be the one to save Lila.
