'What followed next I will never be able to erase from my memory; two hospital security guards grabbed my arms and began pulling me in the opposite direction. My mother screamed and was about to run to me when another two guards grabbed her arms also; dragging her out of the building. I shrieked as they dragged her, wailing as she cried out in fear.'

The Test

They dragged me out to the police car. I feel weak. I had dried blood all over me and I could barely move my fingers. The two officers laid me against the car as they opened the door. They harshly flipped me over. "Anything you say may be used against you in a court of law." One of them says. Mostly everything that I heard was starting to fade and it felt like my ears were popping. "I didn't..d-do anything wro-.." I tried to say but my voice was too weak to continue the sentence. "You have the right to consult an attorney before speaking to the police and to have an attorney present during questioning now or in the future. If you cannot afford an attorney, one will be appointed for you before any questioning if you wish." Was the last thing I heard before I realized that I couldn't breathe.
