We've all heard about the 74th Hunger Games. For once, there were two victors, Katniss Everdeen, the protective older sister who volunteered for her sister Primrose in the Games &Peeta Mellark, the son of District 12's baker who's love for Katniss won the hearts of the Capitol and also won them the games. But does anybody know what went down in the Hunger Games before that? This story follows Orchid Lockhearst, a quiet, reserved 15 year old girl from District 11 who is reaped for the 73rd Hunger Games alongside 16 year old Cordo Oligby. She suffers the trauma of leaving behind her family and we follow her story in the Games..

We know her story. But have you ever wondered what it was like on the home front, in District 12? This story is Gale's, his outlook on the games, his feelings about his best friend's situation, and his interactions with the people of District 12. The story is set during the time period of "The Hunger Games" (book one of the trilogy). It is written from the perspective of Gale Hawthorne, and does not concern any events in books two and three. This is my first fan fiction, my first "real" attempt at long form prose writing, and my first Wattpad story. I appreciate constructive feedback, but please, no hate. While the characters and some plot points are based off of Suzanne Collins's Hunger Games Trilogy, (which I in no way own the rights to) I have created this story using my own imagination. But still battling with Trauma from the games she managed to find the light in the darkness. Finnick Odair met her from being a mentor for his own district and after she won he helped her through the trauma that he knew came with winning the games. But after Katniss and Peeta win the games and a spark is ignited among the districts and the victors are called back for another game. They knew nothing would ever be the same again.
