Stiles's father was killed in front of him when Gerard kidnapped him to get the pack's whereabouts. After Stiles is let go, he still helps the pack to defeat Jackson, but Derek and Scott throw him out of the pack thinking it will keep him safe. 
  
 With nowhere to go, Stiles finds Social Services on his front porch. He sees adoption papers with his name on it and his mother isn't really his mother.
