But was he willing to chase after a flimsy person. She was more delicate, more fragile. She didn't know about his world. "No! I wouldn't be able to contain another heartbreak. I just can't." 

He had made up his mind, he would stay as far away he could. After all his shadows wouldn't let him get close to her. It was his reminder of who he had become and what he couldn't erase.
