Cody Walker used to live to play soccer, always voiced her opinion, and make occasionally funny jokes. However, that Cody hasn't existed since a drunk driver collided into her parents' car.

The new Cody is quiet, reclusive and still makes bad jokes. She quit soccer and would rather be by herself than be with her friends or people in general. Now, she focuses on taking care of her two younger brothers and attempting to learn how to play the guitar.

When Leo, a part time rocker and a full time pain in the ass, discovers Cody struggling to play a G chord, he makes her an offer: He'll teach her how to play in exchange for her owing him three favors, no questions asked. Cody's determination to learn is stronger than the annoyance that Leo's presence brings, so she agrees.

What will happen when Cody learns that guitars aren't the only thing with strings attached?

"You shouldn't need to drink to try and drown your feelings Kayla. I've watched the people around me do this all my life and it doesn't fix anything." "I know it won't fix anything, but for right now it helps me forget" "You can't keep running away or hiding. In the end it all catches up." "You sound like you've been through this before." "I guess you could say that." "You want me to open up to you, but are you ever going to open up to me? I want to get to know you Tyler, but you are so closed off. You know why I got knocked over by that wave? Because I was watching you, I was watching your face and seeing how free you felt riding that wave. It's the only time I've ever seen you let go. You know that someone hurt me, but I think you have been hurt too. When you're ready to talk, I'll be waiting. Maybe we can help each other." "Maybe I'm not worth getting to know" he replied. "And maybe I'm not worth you trying to save me either. Or maybe I am" With that I got up and left him to think about what I said. I put my cards on the table, now it was up to him to make the next move. ******** A year ago, Kayla had it all, doting parents and a relationship with her older brother that others envied. By the end of junior year that changed, she's left broken after a series of events in her life, but she is determined to hide her pain from her friends and enjoy the summer. That is until she meets Tyler, who can see right through the hurt. He has his own secrets though and isn't ready to let anyone in. Together they will either fall apart or fall together.

After a disastrous end to their last tour, Elliot Hawk, lead singer of True Outlaws - a British pop rock band taking the world by storm - is determined to keep the new album release squeaky clean. However, he isn't counting on Phoebe, a shy librarian with a past of her own, catching his eye. She isn't interested in a quick fling with a smooth talking rockstar, but before she knows it, their two worlds collide. They say life can change in a moment, Phoebe and Elliott are about to find out just how true that is. But with backstabbing backing dancers, pressure from the press and a mysterious stranger with a real vendetta, will they be able to find that long overdue happily ever after, or will our star crossed lovers crash and burn in the spotlight? (This is a standalone book, slowburn romance with a happy ending guaranteed. Some mature themes and triggers, including drinking and addiction) ----- "I'm not one of your fan girls." I snapped, a little offended, "I haven't even heard any of your music." "I'm hurt love. After I just serenaded you too." I huffed, "I wouldn't call that serenaded, I'm pretty sure it was harassment."
