The Life of Captain James Nicholls

Richard Nicholls had drilled that saying into his son, Jame's mind from adolescence. This story travels from his teenage years, up until his time of death.
Now, ten years later, at age twenty-nine, James Nicholls has been drafted into the war, as a young recruite, on the frontlines of World War I. As he recruits soldiers and horses himself, he comes across the fearless Albert, and his magnificent horse Joey. After promising his own parents he'd be a hero, and the young lad who'd he'd taken the horse from, James sets off into war.
But will his promise to young Albert be fufilled or will the war snuff out this honorable man's life to drag him to join the other fallen?
