This is my Handmaid's Tale entry, enjoy! Oh and I also want to thank Wattpad for messaging me about this contest because if they haven't I probably wouldn't have ever discovered this contest and entered in it.

Matriarchy: No Need For Men. by feminism2

Chapter 2: World War III (Running!!) Men are gone. Women rule. Imagine a world where men no longer matter-would you survive the matriarchy? What happens when feminism goes too far? This book explores the consequences of a future where the natural balance between men and women collapses. Feminism, having transcended all boundaries, reshapes humanity into a female-centered species. Men, stripped of purpose, exist as relics of the past, serving only as pets in a system that mirrors a hive, where women reign supreme. Biologically, mothers are the gatekeepers of life. Historically, survival forced men and women into partnership-men as protectors and providers, sometimes oppressors, while women adapted to survive under natural pressures. But when humanity masters nature, this necessity vanishes. With no war, famine, or struggle, cooperation dissolves. Robots and AI take over all labor, while science frees women from biological dependence on men, allowing reproduction through stem-cell technology. Men are no longer needed for survival, yet they are not entirely discarded, kept instead as sentimental pets. This is the final form of feminism: a system that abandons equality under the guise of progress, reducing men to a perpetual loop of servitude. Matriarchy: No Need for Men critiques a future where dominance replaces balance, and ideology supersedes the natural truths of human existence. It is a stark warning, not only for men but for all who value the delicate equilibrium that defines humanity.

"I am a wild rose. I am free. I do not need your permission to grow. To bloom, to be the person I was always meant to be." In Martha's world, an alternative earth, the people follow the rules of 'The Grandmothers'. When you turn twenty five you are shelved, no longer allowed to date and forbidden from marrying. The earth is still recovering from the third world war. Resources are controlled by the Elites and the environment is polluted and many countries are damaged beyond repair. The population that survived the war has been ravaged by chemical weapons. The genders are out of balance. For over sixty years the birth rate of female babies has far outweighed their male counterparts. Women are resigned to the knowledge that if they are not married by the time they are twenty five that they never will be. They have limited choices once they are shelved. Martha chooses to go against the wishes of her family. She will spend the rest of her life taking care of her widowed Father as opposed to working and giving all her money to her younger female cousins to supplement their dowry. Fate and time has a different plan. Martha is drawn into a battle between The 19 and The Wild Roses. Two different factions each wanting to use and twist Martha for their own ambitions. Will Martha be able to bloom and change the world for the better or will she crushed? ....This story is a work in progress, it has themes and ideas that may change over time as the story develops and as I learn what you like and dislike about the novel. It hasn't been edited yet...

In Gilead, for both men and women, there are only so many roles. Dictated by birth, by sex, by affiliation, barely by belief. Reagan was a new mother when Gilead took over, and everything in her world fell. Now she finds herself trying to navigate an entire new life. Can she survive the minefield that is this violent place, or will she be yet another soul 'saved' by the mercy of Gilead? Will the man who saves her, keep her contained and content? Or can she, like the few lucky ones, escape to Canada, and see if the love of her life is still alive? #1 #TheHandmaidsTale #5 #dystopian (The Handmaid's Tale fanfiction, based in that world but with original characters. Needless to say, there are VAST creative liberties taken in this, its just for fun. Slow burn with Smut and Trigger warnings. Ongoing with guaranteed weekly updates.)
