June of 2017 before our second semester at university, my best friend Cammie and I decided to swap a South African winter for an Italian summer. So we packed up and went to stay with my uncle at his Tuscan villa. All I had hoped for was six weeks of fun in Italy, shopping at street markets, sunbathing with Cammie and maybe even a fling with a cute Italian boy so that I could FINALLY get some experience. I'd even planned to try to set Cammie up with Jay. But of course I'd forgotten that none of my plans ever play out like I want and nothing is ever easy when Jay is involved.
