On the morning of June 4th, 2017, every address within the bounds of a small county in Indiana was delivered an article entitled "Let the Dead Boy Speak" which was separate from the rest of their mail and their usual Sunday papers. Caught off guard by a large photo of a local boy, Michael Stewart who had died, tragically, in what was deemed an unsolved case of vehicular manslaughter, nearly every adult in the county read that article. Those who didn't read, heard about it at work, those who ignored it, would find links to it in their email inbox and would hear radio talk shows gossiping over the article's every word. It seemed that the article was inescapable and soon enough that tiny county in Indiana was plunged into mystery, angst, and blame. Articles continued to come in every Sunday June 4th to August 6th of 2017, and all anyone could do was keep reading.

I've heard stories before, stories about people losing their loved ones, grieving, healing. And that was the end of it. Comforting tales were these, and yet they left one thing to be desired: reality. In my world, people can't move on so easily. The dead don't let us. - On hiatus
